Alright, no need to get angry
You'll get this message for a maximum of 1 minute.
What's happening is that the site is being attacked on a relatively regular basis, it causes problems for the database server which shuts down to protect data. It is then restarted within 1 minute.
It's proving VERY difficult to stop these attacks, so catching the database shut down and restarting is the best I can do at the moment. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

I have a question Martin.
I don't know the issues behind the site logging these errors, but why does it only seem to be the D3/D4 forum that throws its toys out the pram?
I have never had an issue on the F/L2, RRS or FFRR forums. Admitedley, not on those as much, but they seem to plod along without a hiccup, whereas as the D3 one regularly gives errors.
It's not a moan or criticism, just curious if there is/was a reason My D3 Build Thread

Hi Mike,
Due to the traffic (visitors) and size (volume of posts), DISCO3/4 is on its own server and so issues here don't hit the other sites.
It seems that DISCO3 is just more prone to denial of service attacks (attacks which cause the database to shut down) 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

I had 2 problems that kept reoccurring last night from about 2130.
They were
'phpBB Critical Error : Cannot connect to database',
and
taking 1 minutes (and longer) to load a page,
In the end I gave up

Are you not able to pin down the ip's that the attacks are originating from ? Normally it'll be from a relatively small ip allocation and hence can easily be blocked by the isp when reported.
