The FBH doesn't help start the engine. It just helps warm it up quicker. It will only work AFTER the engine is started. That is unless you don't have an aftermarket FBH controller...

Oh ok, thanks
My first thought was that the glow plugs are on the way out so to
Speak as its only a problem when really cold. Rest of the time it's perfect

Annoyingly it started ok on Friday and Saturday but has been sat for two days

Maybe battery on the way out? That's the most likely cause I can think of.

Battery fine and test - also had it on charge all day and night to make sure. The engine turns over as normal

Thanks

Fuel level- I heard it doesn't start if there's less than 1/4 of a tank of fuel in. If it tries to start like this 3 times in "locks out" and requires a hard reset

A non functioning FBH won't stop your Discovery starting, you have some other issue I'm afraid Sad

Be prepared for problems if they have had it, they are notoriously difficult to remove without snapping off Sad

Is it turning over at normal speed but not "catching"?

While this post is here, thought ide ask my fbh question.
Deffo no working fbh, but car is reaching normal temp in about 3mile 5-10 mins even with 0`c temps outside,
Cooling system working fine but is this quick rise to normal temp with out the fbh working anything to worry about...
