Jim,
BORG do their own 'response' sticker in blue. It's supposed to go on the sun visor but sits nicely on the dash.
Spook.
If you do insist on disappearing to sunnier climes while the rest of us freeze our off!!!! Nick

Great work everyone.
I'm not in any group but enjoyed pulling 2 stranded motorists up a steep ice covered hill this morning, the disco never missed a beat. Great fun.

I was put on standby for Saturday and sounded out for availability to get care workers in for their evening/night shifts but in the end I didn't turn a wheel.
I gave the Disco to the wife for 5 am Sunday morning as she also works as a nurse in a care home and she was asked to assist one of the carers to get in as she "couldn't drive her car in the dangerous conditions". Turns out what that meant was her hubby couldn't be bothered to clear their drive of the 20' of snow before she made it to the gritted clear and perfectly safe road!!!!!
I'm all for local resiliance and 4x4 help, but it is a fine line before people start taking the p155!!!!

Go to www.4x4response.info
This is the UK wide website for the charity that has overall brief for the local groups, they should be able to tell you if theres a group in your area.
Its very rewarding & for once you don't get glared at for owning a 4x4! Nick

I was out Sunday and Monday ferrying district nurses around Warwickshire with the Response arm of the Midland Rover Owners club.
We had about 25 guys out in total over the weekend.
Positive publicity for 4x4s here.

There is a picture of the dog's owner but they chose the dog instead.

We have been out since friday, transporting ambulance staff, meals on wheels and have had 2 or 3 vehicles every night taking District Nurses to patients all round the county all night. Amazing the amount of voluntary effort put in by my colleagues, and I know this has been repeated all over the country. I know there have been some disparaging comments on other threads, but don't knock it until you try it, we have a great team of very diverse personalities who enjoy the social side and when the chips are down boy do they work hard. It's been fairly busy over the last few days in Kent, we're not on standby now, but were lucky to get a short piece on the One Show on Monday 8)

As a controller for Peak 4x4 Response (http://www.peak4x4response.org) we handled 35+ callouts Friday through Tuesday.
The majority were delivering home social care/nurses to patients - some very early starts for the team.

Wessex 4x4 Response handled 147 requests over the last few days - mostly around Bristol and Dorset. Similar to other groups it's typically transporting medical staff around but a couple of guys have done blood runs when it's too icy for the bikes. We've also done a day out offroading for kids with brothers and sisters at the local childrens' hospice. If anyone in the area is interested PM me!
