Has anyone else had to replace this part? I've been having problems with the immobiliser switching off when i turn the ignition key so sometimes the car starts and sometimes not. I took the car to the main dealer who thought it was the ignition switch and replaced this costing £170 but it hasn't solved the problem. Now they've quoted a further £460 to replace the Body Control Unit hoping that this will solve the issues. To be honest they dont seem sure and as costs are now mounting up i'm wondering if these costs sound reasonable?

mine has been doing this since I bought it about 5 years ago - once in a while - maybe every 30 ignition cycles it fails to turn the engine over on the first attempt - as if the immobiliser has kicked in. It has never given me any more of an issue so I have politely ignored for fear of a big bill

Hi bodsy, i would have hoped they would have done that being a main dealer but i will check. I usually use an independant but theyre not keen on getting involved with anything connected to the immobiliser.
I'm in that horrible place of having everything crossed hoping for a good outcome and some money still left in the bank!
