Gearbox fault appeared

2009 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 XS Auto Zermatt SilverDiscovery 4
Gearbox fault appeared

Reversing up the drive and dropped into low gears. Stopped and selected high gears. Fault light appeared and said ok to clear. Any ideas? Just a glitch or something scary on its way.

Had this once, while in low range up a steep-ish hill. Didn't want to manually shift gears when displaying the error. Stopped, engine turned off and started again - haven't seen the error again since.

I had the exactly the same issue 3 weekends ago. However I could not clear the fault and the lights on the hi/low indicators kept flashing,

Eventually resolved the problem by keeping my finger on the Hi button, and after a loud thumping noise all the faults started to go away.

No problems since, been towing and used both Lo and Hi without any problems.

We put the car through more rough stuff over Easter as we are off to the Land Rover Show at Melrose Discovery 4 2.7 SE
Defender 130 TD5 - Daily Drive
2.7t Caravan
Java TD5 HSE - Gone but not forgotten.
Java V6 Freelander - Had fun in it.
