Re: About to upgrade to a D4 |

Currently own a 55 plate D3 SE with 120k on the clock, could not believe the difference between the two drives. More power, refinement, quiet, improved body roll, etc, I was really surprised. D3 is almost agricultural in comparison. Down side or up depends how you view it is I ended up part exchanging for an approved 61 plate XS (Landmark) in grey. Nothing like a casual visit to a dealer.
You will not regret it

Members - re the 3.0 SVD6 engine what is the realistic average mpg?, just wondering if I need a further meet with the bank Cant imagine the exclusive Landmark has exclusive mpg performance or maybe it does. Thanks in advance.

You'll find most Landmark owners don't need to bother themselves discussing grubby mpg figures. We're working on a more stylish, creative level where money isn't the main issue!
(and yes, I also think we should have our own area on the forum)

I love my D3 - SWMBO offered to get me one of those landrover off road days for my 40th so I could try the D4. I declined - I haven't got 30 grand lying around to replace the D3! It would be like having 1 date with Kylie Minogue, everything afterwards would be spoilt! Hopefully will get a used D4 in 3 years time.

The HSE might be like one date with Kylie, but I think a Landmark would be more Rachel Riley?

I'm just worried the D3 would be more Lisa Riley after the D4?! Unless I win the lottery hopefully won't find out for a few years?!

MPG? Depends where/how you drive it. Some people are getting a true 30mpg average and my Lieometer tells me I am getting 24.7, but 95% of my driving is short journeys on country lanes and off road. The true average mpg is 21.19 (or so my Android APP,Fuellog tells me!)
To be quite honest,if MPG was a concern I would probably have bought a X3, but then I would be still stuck in the mud at the bottom of the field & I would have had to pay someone in a D4 to pull me out!!

It was more curiosity than concern, it is what it is I guess. Will make sure I set up the petrol stations on the satnav POI. Picking it up this weekend so I will post some feedback after I've run it for a few miles, along with some other daft questions. Must say although I've had a D3 for a while I'm really looking forward to collecting the D4. Happy days.

Paul my MPG figures tie in with the other Paul and it looks like we do similar sorts of driving but the rest of the car more than makes up for some lowly MPG figure Cheers Ian

Satnav already does that for you when it registers you're low on fuel.

Gents - a twist in my story dealer called me today and said I could collect I promptly dropped everything and an now have the 61 plate Landmark on my drive, looks bloody marvelous and very shiny, for now. First daft new owner question re the Landmark model, is the blue tooth telephone facility a standard fit, if so it is not obvious on mine and I get the feeling it should be. Second question the owners handbook I have (publication no: LRL 10 02 59 131) has little to do with the "touch screen home menu" I have on my vehicle. Is there only one owners handbook version, I hope being exclusive does not mean everything's at hybrid status Thanks in advance and once over the initial where is everything hurdle I will attempt to make a more meaningful contribution to this forum
