HSE Xenons onto XS

I have a 2010 Discovery 4 XS with halogens, and just got my hands on a pair of 2012 HSE Xenons.

Unfortunately as I live in N.Ireland I can't take a trip to see the guys at Bell Autos to have the necessary coding done. We have a couple of Land Rover specialist mechanics over here, who I assume should have the dealer diagnostic software, is this something they could do? Failing that can I get it done by Land Rover themselves? Any help or advice much appreciated Bow down

Rob

LandRover can't, you need a faultmate or similar. Thumbs Up

Why do they need activating? I have D4 Xenons with fairy lights on my 8 year old D3 and they work a treat without any activation.

They will work fine with a start-up flicker until you can find someone to update your CCF.

Curious - I have no start up flicker.

may work a little different as you have D4 lights in a D3 Question

Yep. Following some vandalism I replaced everything with D4 bits so now I have a D 3 1/2.

I also have a spare set of Xenons for sale - my best offers became bids Sad

Great stuff Smile

Couple of other things, what about auto levellers and washers for MOT?

And the halogen height adjustment knob to the right of the steering wheel, does this just become redundant?

Ah, just noticed today the D4 has washers in the bumper anyway. And I assume the headlight units self level themselves

They level themselves by being attached to a car that levels itself.

Only had experience of xenons in BMWs with normal suspension, and they perform a quick 2 second levelling every time they get switched on where the lights hit the floor then slowly rise up into position. Hadn't realised this could be done via the air suspension in the Discovery Thumbs Up
