Had to have LRA out to me as my car wouldn't rev above 3000 rpm and more lights and warnings than a Boeing 747. Not sure what the problem is. I had been driving the car quite quick and using manual shift. Told the LRA guy and he say that might have something to do with it. ? Oh yeah I get that.......not.
I wasn't looking forward to the D3 going but I'm losing my patience a bit. Any ideas what this could be?

Had the D3 back on Saturday afternoon. Yesterday afternoon I had a really loud noise coming from the n/s front wheel area when reversing on lock. Did it a couple of times and so loud that people outside of the car turned to look My wife was supposed to be using the car this morning so I wanted to have it looked at to make sure it was safe so I called LRA, this time they weren't so good.
2pm called them and they said they needed to send a technician out.
3pm called me back to say that two of the technicians had rejected the job so they were still trying to find someone but were very busy.
4.30pm they called to say that they couldn't get anyone and could someone come in the morning. I said that I needed to be there when someone came to look at it so they arranged for a local agent to come along who said that it was safe enough to drive and that he could take the car away if i wanted but don't expect a replacement til mid morning tomorrow. So we left it. Going forwards it doesn't make the noise.
Anyone else had this?
Shame about LRA as they have always been good in the past.

Glad you got it back - you don't really want to get rid off it do you?
Is the noise your getting a really loud grating noise when on full lock? If so see the following thread for instructions on how to cure it - the thread says that it only happened in reverse but mine did it either direction and any height, but not had it again since following these instructions.

cheers Woody. I'll give that a try. I'm afraid that I will be Discoless very soon yes. My family members who said that I wouldn't keep a Disco for long because they think they're unreliable are rubbing their hands with glee

Getting a Merc GL320 CDI with a Brabus chip, rear seat entertainment, leather and a few other gadgets. Replacing the Volvo with a ML320 CDI Sport with a load of extras pre-reg's 15 miles costing me £2300 to change more than it was going to cost to a new Freelander HSE Td4 auto. Not saying Goodbye to Land Rover just TTFN, I just can't take any more technical problems.
