I know we have seen a number of these D3 / D4 pulling-a-massive-truck stories and I have posted a link to one pulling a double-decker up a hill, but they never fail to impress.
I spent a few hours pulling colleagues out of a snowed-in work car park a couple of years ago (the infamous big Arctic freeze) . The thing I remember most was how cold I got, especially my hands on the bow shackles and in the end this is why I stopped.
For this guy to do if for so long earns my respect!
(Must find a strap with big hooks at some point.)

I've only tugged a couple of cars up a snowy hill by us and rescued my bro in law when his car died in town this year so far, but it gives you that warm feeling inside to know that you've stopped to help someone and you can see they really appreciate it.
I was just backing up to a snowplough that had its rear wheel off the drift covered road into the gully
I reckon I could of pulled him but a tractor turned up and spoiled my fun

Indeed....I'm personally waiting for the tree-huggers explanation when the first person to trip over a charging lead in a public place sues for damages.... "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

I think that most of us would do it provided we had the time, the worse thing is most car owners can't find or don't know where their screw in eyes are kept, so I've had to abandon a couple of tows in the snow because of this.
Are they all the same... are the threads common on all makes of vehicle?

not sure about the threads, but have found in the past that a few minute's read of the hand book reveals the required info
lets face it nearly everyone carry's the handbook in the glove box, and if they don't then tough

I gave a tow to a Zafira last week, it was a courtesy car and they guy had got it the day before.
It had no manual, or tow hook, or a jack..
So the rope went round the front cross member..
Worked for me/him.. In loving memory of FA54WSK.
Rest well old friend, your work is done.
