I think you need to remove the door card in order to gain access to the fixings that retain the mirror assembly. 2021 BMW iX3 Premier Edition in Carbon Black ⚡️🔌

Looking at the PowerfulUK video on You tube, once the card is loose, then you can access the wiring and two retaining nuts to remove and replace the new mirror unit, without actually taking the card off. This will save a LOAD of hassle.
As soon as my new unit arrives I will either confirm that or otherwise......
Just backed into the gate, managed to get an OEM replacement from LR Trade parts delivered for £120 which I considered getting off lightly.....
They reported posting it within 30 minutes of the order being placed, nice one!
It arrived in 24 hours....impressed.

I haven't seen this one before. It confirms my thought that the panel doesn't have to be removed, so avoiding messing with opening systems etc.

Took me about 40 minutes to take the card off, replace the mirror, and refit the card. No need to disconnect anything else, jut undo the three mirror torx screws and the electrical contact and hey presto....
Check the mirror works on the adjuster, tap the card back in and screw it on......
Easier than I anticipated, still £120 though.....

Do you really need to remove the whole door? Just saw a YouTube video where the guy removes the tweeter speaker panel. But maybe that doesn’t give you access to the electrics...

No, you don't have to remove the panel but it needs popping out of the studs at least at the top so you can gain access to the mirror retaining nuts. You are only working in one corner after all!

Superb. Thanks all for your help. I did it yesterday and the door card removal was actually quite straight forward. Pleasantly surprised.
