Who changed the water manifold and did they bleed the system?

Get a hydrocarbon check done on the coolant header tank. That will confirm that you have blown your head gaskets, or worse, cracked the heads or the cylinder block.
Guess some of these failures could be down to how well the car is cared for, I think regular oil and filter changes are a prerequisite, also only use genuine filters, not some Chinese copy from the local parts store.
