Car lowers itself randomly

Hi All,

Just had a very weird thing happen to me today. I was stopped at traffic lights when the rear of the car on the left hand side dropped down. For a second I thought that the road had subsided. Although a little weird I thought no more about it....Just thought it was me dreaming...

Then later, having stopped the car for an hour or so, I drove it again. about 20 mins into my town journey and again, whilst stopped at traffic lights, the whole car lowered itself. This time across all four wheels and this time it was obvious and nothing to do with anything that I was doing. I check all the drive lights both on the dash and the central selector consol and all were in the "standard" driving position (lights)....

Anyone else have this problem? Should this ever happen without user input?

Somewhat worried as car was initially plagued with electrical problems when it was delivered to me - which a trip to the dealer and a "full reboot" cured, although the car is only 2 months old and has only done 1500 miles...

I wasn't happy with the car being delivered to me with all the original faults and I worry that although I don't use the car that much, every time I drive it, something new seems to occur. I am getting the distinct urge to return it to the dealer and ask for my money back.....As I fear this is a "Friday evening" car.

Thoughts?

My guess is it's an "unlucky car" - this can happen... A bit mystical, I know Rolling Eyes

I encountered similar problem with a 55 reg RRS Supercharged once - it would randomly change suspension settings on one of its wheels for no apparent reason. It's been in and out of Land Rover garages for a rather long time - a few months, yet they couldn't find any fault with it. The car got sold in the end, but the loss to the owner was substantial.

So if that's your feeling that the car is more trouble than it's worth, just change it while you still can. Or be prepared to become a mechanic Wink

sounds like it is just levelling up which is normal.

quite often when stood at traiffic lights it will level out a bit.

nothing to worry about i'd say.

funnily enough it's just been into the garage and guess what? They couldn't find a fault. I am currently trying to exchange this Disco for another one, but am being given the usual run around. In the first instance they want to bring the car back to the dealers to have "a full review/look over the car" but frankly I can see this as being the start of the interminable shuffle to the menders, with the "we can't replicate the fault and the computer says nah"

levelling up maybe, but not dropping down arbitrarily on one wheel or all four...

possibly, sometimes the quickest way to level is to drop one wheel rather than raise three!

+1 for just self-levelling. It is weird the first couple of times but in Sheffield you spend so long in traffic that you get to know which junctions it happens at !
