Shopping around for breakdown, recovery, etc for the D3 and can get top level cover from Green Flag for £120 including 90 days in Euroland covering the countries I'll be going to. RAC via Clubcard is £86 (but that's £172 or £258 real world) but a lot less cover and AA European is stupidly expensive as they think Scandinavia is on the dark side of the moon. The Green Flag figure is only for the D3 but just got basic breakdown from the AA for the old Jazz for the princely sum of £2.03!!
Finally getting to my question: anyone any experience of Green Flag, both on road and after being dragged to the tarmac after offroading? Are they any good or to be avoided? Been with the RAC for years but for much less than the cost of only RAC Eurozone cover I can get UK as well.
Thoughts peeps?
TIA.

MIL's Honda CRV died after she turned it off on the way up here a couple of months ago....Green Flag were with her in 10 minutes. They diagnosed, then fitted a new battery there and then...she was on here way 35 minutes after calling them....well impressed
Not suggesting thats always the case as she was at a M-Way service station at the time.....but I thought that was pretty good. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

We have Green Flag cover on all family cars. I think the cost is reasonable but the service has been excellent. Coil pack for Polo was on the van when that failed. Got me off M25 with puncture in no time at all and though text alerts updated me on time it would take and who was on their way. Faultless. If you have multiple cars/drivers they can normally do a deal.
EDIT - Forgot to say it was via the Caravan Club Mayday scheme as Green Flag then recover tintents with no length restriction. 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Sounds good Euan & Barn1e.
Only need it for the D3 as the rest of the fleet either has manufacturers' cover or the £2 deal from the AA. Will try and beat them up on the £120 price but that's pretty good.

I took ill in 2008 at the Caravan Club National Rally at Blenheim Palace. I was not allowed to drive and was recovered by Green Flag and taken all the way home to Rosyth. They stopped twice on the journey to swap over the car and caravan to a more local recovery agent. I can't fault their service, the pick up from Blenheim Palace was arranged around what suited me best, not them.

We chose GF as they are one of a very few who will cover larger twin axle caravans. If you check the small print some of the other "larger" firms quote a max length of 7.00m....which is around a metre too short.
For euro cover we use CC Red pennant. D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

I went away from Green Flag to Britannia Rescue when they were bought years back by Direct Line.
Have used both probably 5 or 6 times each, have had no complaints at all.
Have nothing good to say about either the RAC (considered use of a trolley jack as hire of special equipment, and that was the least of the problems) or the AA (sent a child who was younger than my engine, and who couldn't tell the difference between a pinhole in the rad and a blown head gasket).

Used Green Flag extensivley over decades now - Land Rovers, cars, motorbikes. Local vehicles and drivers so they know their area, which is handy if you are stuck in a strange English town and need a fish supper at 11pm! A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Just pushed the big round "BUY ME NOW!!!!!" button for Green Flag. For £120 got all singing and all dancing cover for the D3 including 90 days European cover for my assorted jollies. Although RAC is cheaper in vouchers through Clubcard i can spend those vouchers on other things at treble face value. Out of curiosity I bunged in the old Jazz details for the top UK cover and it pushed the bill up by only £6. No brainer really and a right bobby bargain so the old girl is being treated to that.

Hopefully not but good to know big green taxi is available. Especially since the D3 is now heading to North Cape via W Norway, 5,500 miles in 16 days.

Have never done Quidco or equivalent, will get SWMBO on the case.
PS SWMBO's had a look at it and decided it's not worth the hassle, especially after reading the feedback.

SWMBO's comment was "That polava is far too complicated and life's too short", or words to that effect.
