Hi had my dicovery break down the other day started first thing in morning then drove 20 km then stopped , went to start her dead just harzad. Lights flashed & air bag Light on battery dead plus strange smell from under bonnet so got lift home , after putting post on here I was told alternator & try advanced factors (very helpful chap so I place order for one , go back today to move turn key dead so jump started her , all fine & drive home turn her off then. Tryed again fine ??? Left overnight tried again this morning first left running all seams fine ??? Surely the battery should be flat if atlernator is gone ???
