Nah, if you don't want to risk being called a "ponce". You want a kelly Kettle (storm kettle) as per this link:

They are brilliant, boils really quickly.

But that is not gonna fit in the door pocket of the D3 like the jetboil does! That's the main reason for having one (as oposed to anything else) isn't it??
Poncey sh*t or not, it makes a bloody fine cup of coffee. Must see if LR are interested in fitting one in the D4. Or perhaps I could hard-wire their compact one into the headrest and have it drip-fed to me?I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

No it wont fit in the door, which is very handy indeed, but setting fire to pieces of twig etc. (actually I use kindling wood that I take with me ) is officially less "poncy" than using gas cannisters .
I have the 1.5 lt version which is perfect for 5 tin mugs.

so the challenge is to make the least poncy cup of warm beverage then is it? methinks rubbing two sticks of wood together to ignite some undergrowth is going to be a bit tricky this weekend Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Hence the name, but seriously the "storm kettle" really does work in all weathers. (It originates from the West coast of Ireland) Amazing bit of kit.
I'd actually be just as happy plugging in a coffee machine though
P.S Wish I could be on Salisbury Plain this weekend to demo. it, have a great time.

The kelly kettles are great, not got one, but seen them used, they run on just about anything - even damp twigs. You can get frying pans too.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
