If you own a D3 or 4 owning one of these is a no brainer!
These are fantastic tools and have helped me out of so many issues saving me time and money.
Really simple to use and as everyone else says, the support from GAP is second to none. Giggity - Giggity

Sorry for bringing this back to the front but,
I have recently purchased one and updated it but when I plug it in the only option it gives me is 'sat on the move', which I flashed, but I can't get to any other menu, does anyone have any ideas,
Cheers

Yep, there are two download options on the updater - if you select the one you have done - it just does SNOTM - update the tool again, but this time choose the other option - you should see a description of the update

Still loving mine, great for bunging up some value and having the "passanger" keep an eye on them. Way more interesting than Radio 2.
I know I'm only skimming across the surface but good to know it can do a lot more than I need rather than the other way round.
And for Kingmav, no I haven't bricked it.

Hi Guys
Maybe I can help a bit here…
From the user manual:
"The RLM Suspension ECU must be updated when the IPC Instrument pack ECU is updated." If the suspension ECU is not updated, the suspension warning light will come on the instrument cluster. I will add this detail in the user manual.
Suspension ECU: User can choose between the Hitachi and AMK compressor firmwares.
Discovery 3/LR3 and Discovery 4/LR4 vehicles up to 2012 were fitted with the Hitachi compressor. In 2012, the AMK compressor which is more robust was introduced and is now fitted to new vehicles. It is also the replacement supplied by Land Rover for older vehicles (including Discovery 3/LR3). Since there are differences between the Hitachi and the AMK compressors, the suspension ECU firmwares are not the same.
If the vehicle is fitted with the Hitachi compressor: The RLM Suspension ECU software update contains modifications on the compressor logic and temperature thresholds. These changes help extend the lifespan of the compressor.
We strongly recommend using a power supply or another vehicle connected on the battery to keep the voltage high enough during re-flashing. This is especially true for the BCM-Body Control ECU. Other recommendations will soon be released in regards to the re-flashing of the BCM. The IIDTool should also be updated to the latest build before ECU re-flashing is performed.
If you need help or have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Cheers
Rather than start a new thread for much the same questions, even although its been a while since comment.
I have taken possession of the IID BT tool and working my way through flashing the ECU's.
Have done the 4x4 info one and have now moved onto the dash clock. Before starting the process I note that the compressor ECU should also be flashed, however having just recently bought the vehicle I have no idea what make of compressor has been fitted, I do know it was changed by the previous owner. Is there a quick way to tell the make of compressor. Don't want to start this update till I'm sure I can finish it.

There's no way for the ECU to know which compressor is fitted. However, you can interrogate the ECU to know which firmware is currently fitted, Hitachi or AMK version. Menu--ECU Flash--Suspension--Identify Firmware.
Once this is done, simply update the ECU with the correct one.

Have to say after using Hawkeye and Nanocom on earlier vehicles, the IID BT is the most user friendly unit I've come across.
Should rename it the DFD - Diagnostics for Dummies

Just got the GAP BT Tool ????
OK so I have received mine and have updated, registered, activated yaada yaada.
My question is. I assume by looking thru here, it got late when I was playing with it, All of the ECU firmware is downloaded to the tool in the updates.
As in I have a D3 2005 SE, want the clock on dash and the 3 flash signals. This means I probably have to re flash the BCM firmware. I don't need to find any files cause they are already there in the tool since I updated the tool to 4.0 something early today 12-21-19.
So hook up the jumpers and go reflash the BCM when I get time taking precautions as per the manual.
Or am I missing a file download for the BCM update for the firmware somewhere?
Just seems too easy for it to work like that, I hope so, just checking?
GAP is oof for the holidays, great I fast shipped my tool and now I have questions for them? LMAO Just my luck.2005 Land Rover D3, 4.4L V8, Maya Gold Metallic

Clock on the dash is easy you need to flash the ICP software with the 2007 software for the pre 2007 vehicle.
It takes 70 seconds to complete so you shouldnt need an extra power source.
Be aware that when its doing it the dash and vehicle will go completely dead, you will still see the count down on your phone and about 10 seconds from the end everything comes back to life. Its scary the first time but thats the way it works.
The indicators are an option in the CCF files, i have clicked this option but nothing changed on my 2005

All Done
So thanks for you guys help. Earlier today I did some ECU updates.
Just to review for anyone who don't know like I didn't, the firmware updates are in the tools memory. So you just got to that ECU and you can update it with the proper version. Be sure to read the instructions FOR SURE. IT's a little scary but I was able to add the 3 flash (by doing the BCM ECU flash) then adding the function to the CCF and then writing it to the CCF.
I was a little confused as I first had flashed the IPC ECU with the IPC Pre MY07 and not the IPC MY 07 +. This is when the 3 flash got initialized. Also the clock on dash showed up as well which I needed due to my OEM radio's screen not being able to be seen from the driver's seat due to age.
Got my tool here in the states from Lucky8 and ordered it Friday night, paid an extra $15 to get 2 day shipping however my tool showed up the next day. WOW overnight cause I didn't order until maybe 3:00 pm on Friday.
I also calibrated the transfer case and maybe the transmission and the problem I was having with the truck jerking hard into gear when accelerating from a rolling stop is now gone.
Thanks Again2005 Land Rover D3, 4.4L V8, Maya Gold Metallic
