Town & County - Aberdeen
Just got the D3 back after its 2nd service ( 17k miles )
Loan car was a Flander2, quite nice in a girlie sort of way
They had the car a day longer, new pads all round needed
sorted cruise control under warranty
Didnt wash it ( they used to)
A 'does what it says on the tin' type service
expected a three course meal and a bottle of champers when I got the chuffin bill
So long as the good LR driving folks of Aberdeen continue to bend-over with their bulging wallets in hand, there will always be a stealer in at the bottom of Wellington Rd ready to but-f k you and request exaggerated rates...........
Edit: To be fair to T&C, the same applies to most of the franchised dealerships in the town. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Just had my D3 serviced, and while I have to say I have been critical of T&C in the past, it was faultless this time - e-mailed confirmation of appointment, VAT rate reduced without asking from the original quote, phone call that they had found minor faults (bulb changed with no labour charge), car thouroughly washed & cleaned, and overall a much improved experience. Yes they seem expensive - BUT if you run a business yourself you will know the overheads to be met (especially in Aberdeen!). Interestingly there is a new Service Manager in place - so perhaps this explains the improvement?

Still a bit suspect of the service there, time will tell if the new service manager will change things.
I phoned around for some quotes for my First service and was quoted £326.89 inc VAT From T&C and £50 less from Frank Ogg!
So unless Frank Oggs so far excellent service changes i will stick with them Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

That's just a simple fact of the economics of Aberdeen - the costs of premises, rates, staff etc are all considerably higher in Aberdeen than in Elgin.
Much as I have had problems with T&C in the past I think it worthwhile cultivating a working relationship with a local dealer as there are times when a car needs urgent (or minor) repairs that are outwith the service routine & being able to nip into the local dealer where you are recognised as an established customer has its value.
