always been confused by the rationale behind motorhomes especially when you tow a car
would nt it just be easier to tow a caravan with a car ,,, more space ,cheaper to buy ,and no having to use the sleeping vehicle to get around once your there
lovely looking bit of kit tho i have to say enjoy
For start we dont have to take the car, and there are places we can stop for free or the cost of a pub meal, that you cant stop it with a caravan.
Secondly as much as I love my D3, its a load lugger, tower and cruiser: this is so much more fun when out exploring especially when the sun is out.

Sleeping under canvas shouldn’t be undertaken by anyone over the age of 10, regardless of what various threads on here would have you believe
Bought our Swift Escape nearly 2 years ago and love it. Yes, in some situations we take a car too for places where a 7.4m motorhome isn’t the best.
Just back from London in 27c, and at New Year in Aviemore it was -11c......air con or central heating deal with whatever is outside.
Enjoy it 8)

Sorry Mark missed this. Condition first and foremost, servicing, then documented head gasket change or budget £350 just in case, plus is underneath coolant pipes changed for stainless. The Fs on hydragas spheres are a nicer ride, the TF more sporty ride and the TFs are slightly faster across the range.
1.6/115 is the slowest but still nippy (we have one that I let my daughter use), 1.8/120 stepspeed is an automatic with flappy paddles and apparently a delight to drive, 1.8/135 is the most common and a great little car and they top out with 1.8 VVC/160 tend to be the most sort after apart form the anniversary models
Max £2000 will get a well sorted one of either model privately, £3-6000 from a specialist dealers like Trophy cars
And then there are the Chinese relaunch models made from 2007-11 which had a revised version of the K series engine called the n series, these are generally available with lowish miles for under £10,000.
So in summary buy the best condition one you can afford, age isn't important if its just a fun car then any variant will do, if you like to blow the cobwebs away occasionally then a 1.8/135 or 1.8 VVC/160==================================
