I'd like to know that too. The most annoying thing is when you are moving along in a traffic jam and it goes from large screen to blank and then to small screen when you go back in park. 6 weeks into ownership I never use the TV and wouldn't have it again.

This might seem like a daft question but, does the disco 3 HSE have the ability to have tv fitted in it or is this something that one must pay for as an optional extra??
I've got a sat nav screen in the dash, where does the tv go? On the dash??
I did warn you it was a daft question!! LOL

just had a quote to have an alpine digital tv on the move and dvd fitted to my SE, 8) they suggested putting a seperate lcd screen in the front, either via sunvisor or in the storage well behind the gearlever, this is due to the need for the special adaptor mentioned above to enable a video input to the front satnav screen, this would also enable the touch screen to be used to switch between inputs.
£800 incl seperate screen, £1300 to use existing!!!

why waste all that money ..you have a screen ..you might aswell use it ..
Digital tv and a dvd can be shown on your sat nav screen ..do you realy wanna spend £700 on a button on your touch screen?
Connect it to the back of your sat nav screen and use the password to enable it (takes about 10 seconds)
You will also then be able to watch (for example ) TV and have the sat nav working in the background ....ie ...it will tell you directions while whatching tv.G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

My understanding from the CarAudio guys was that in order to get a video signal into the screen you needed to have this expensive connector kit, he went on about the car having a canbus?, and that you couldnt just plug in and go. I thought that the touch screen button was just another feature of the interface.
What is the "code" you refer to? and will it work on my model year / all models?
Thanks for your advice, I would love to save myself £700!!!

there is a tread (in tips and tricks I think) which shows how to mod the nav screen to take video input. You'd still need a TV tuner somewhere, but yoy can pick up cheap ones on fleebay.

to get into the diagnostics menu
o On the touchscreen, press the RIGHT HARD KEY to get to the home screen
o Press the invisiblebutton which is at the very top in the middle of the screen for about 5 secs
o The press and hold the LEFT HARD KEY for about 5 secs (if at this point the map appears you
didnt hold the invisible button down for long enough!)
o You then get asked to enter a Diag PIN number this is 753
o Now you get various options depending on your car specification, but if you select VIDEO
INPUT TEST and then TV/DVD you should get your picture up
!
This is what the back of the touch screen looks like
hope this makes it easier to understandG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Sorry a bit confused here. How would you update an 07 Hybrid TV to work on the move?

Rear View Cam
Ok guys, now I need help...
I have an 07 build HSE arriving next week. Would I be able to fit a rear view cam considering the pics above are relevant to my Satnav, and where would I be able to get the cam? Would any other interface be required?

I'm with you on this Butts, would be handy when stuck in those daily intrninable queues.
Must be software driven, & thus disable-able surely ?

TV on the move
This will be triggered by the speed data sent to the CPU that also drives the sat nav motion, speed dependent volume control on the radio, variable speed wipers etc. It is a digital signal coming up the CAN bus so unless someone can reprogramme the CPU to send the data to some devices but not others then it is not possible.
