The 5 D3's that attended the photoshoot today are offered this by ALLISPORT associated with the journelist, and the proviso that its a test bed and documented. Glynne will get the details this week. No costs as of yet but were given the impression we were getting ours cost price or free.
Sorry Jason, but the way I understood it was, the jounalist was talking to Allisport about something else and mentioned he was meeting a group with D3's and Allisport mentioned to the journalist that he had an intercooler in developement and could be interested in a few people assisting in developement. I wouldn't say the journalist was 'associated' with Allisport.
Plus any costs that were discussed today were just 'maybes' and didn't come from Allisport.
That is correct Andy to take this offline and avoid any confusion, any one who is interested please pm me and ill discuss....this is NOT a for sale or member offer thread."you cannot teach stupid people to do clever things"

Pics below of the 2 options, road and offroad.
The offroad version uses a blanking plate in place of the original intercooler with the new system mounted higher up.
The benefits of both systems are a larger "core" to the standard LR product, therefore with the revised postion, better access and easier cleaning.
As a secondary benefit, early results show better mid range performance and economy.
Both products still in development, so not on general sale, but extensive offroad trials are being undertaken overseas by a french outfit taking a number of D3s across Tunisia, plus road trials here in the uk.
A few pics to wet the appetite below:

I think the offroad version will be better due to having better airflow
The on road will be mostly covered by the crash bar so will only really be as big as the OE cooler
I'm considering replacing my i/c rather than just cleaning it next time. Looking at the pictures above though, one question springs to mind:
How, if at all, do the i/c mounts affect the fixings of the LR winch kit which I have i.e. did you check that the bolt holes are there for both winch and non-winch compatibilty? If not, I'm only down the road from Allisport and can drop by for them to look at it.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Matt,
I have the slam bar in place on my version, the new one is still market improvement, remember the main objective of both versions is to provide an easier cleaning solution with better airflow, it just happens that performance is improved
Mrh..Im at Allisport this afternoon so ill ask.
So far in the road version im seeing better economy and more mid range punch, feedback on the offroad version to follow.
Hopefully will have an idea of pricing today as well "you cannot teach stupid people to do clever things"

Further Update,
After discussions today, Allisport dont think it will be a problem for those with hidden and external winch installations with the off road version as the cooler is located in the same position as the standard IC, just further up the vehicle, however this will be comfirmed soon as the offroad versions will be fitted to a couple of uk test cars in the next week or 2.
The only component that will need to be relocated is the horn!.
To discuss pricing etc, please call Allisport directly

Oh that reminds me. I have to make a phone call.
The nice man at Allisport has kept his word and changed the cracked intercooler that was fitted to my 110 Puma. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
