Upper glove box help plse
Hi
Wondering if someone would be so kind to help me please
Going to install a small aux 6 x way fuse box into the upper glove box, running from my Aux battery , the old insert isn’t in a very good condition so ordered one in better condition
As I’m laid up at the moment When the new one turns up would like to pre make as much as I can whilst sitting at the kitchen table , fitting the fuse box, etc before i finally install it in the disco
Would someone know where the best place to drill the holes into the glovebox insert for wires to pass through please ,ie, top, bottom , back , RH or LH , so I can pass conduit through easily so that there’s no obstruction from behind once installed , ie heater or airbag etc
Been trying to find some decent pics with the upper glove box insert removed or things like a fuse box/ CB stalled to give me an indication but can’t find any
Also got to fit a new glove box light as the old one is all broken
Another silly question if i may please, is the top glove box lid suppose to shut properly like the lower one does please
Have also been searching for the best place to pick up SWL from the passenger fusebox, , either from some empty spaces or using piggy back style fuses , 10 x amp supply
Any help with this I would be as always extremely grateful plse and save me a lot of work not having to mess around as I can’t do any work on the disco at the moment and be nice to at least sit at the kitchen table and pre make a lot of it up the best I can and ideally know where I can drill the holes through the glovebox liner ready for installation
Big thks in advance

I had my upper glove box out today on my RRS.
THere is plently of room on the left on that.
Above there is no room because of the shelf and airbag.
make sure the air vent isn't in the way on yours.
What is SWL ?

You want a 30a switched live? Quite an ask! But the cigar lighter power outlet fuses come to mind.

I've fed wires into the left hand side and at the bottom right corner of the back. I'll see if I can find a pic or two!

The vent to the left just pulls off, from the bottom first I believe and then you can see the space to the left.

should be fitted as standard for getting the bill from crank failure.

apologises , it’s 10 amp I need for the top panel and the 30 amp for the bottom panel which is already there in the cig lighter circuit
The old brain got confused , which isn’t difficult
Sorry about that

Hi
Perfect , thks a million for that
It’s just so I can make up the newer glove box liner prior to installation
Daft question does the upper glove box lid close properly like the bottom one does, as mine doesn’t catch properly so wondered if that’s normal or faulty
Thks, know what u men’s about the airvent, pulled that out before as I was looking why it didn’t have a cup holder , then realised it was because mines a base model
Also did try before getting that glovebox liner out with no success , at least this time as I’m replacing it don’t have to worry
Always most appreciated for the help
Thks so much once again

There are 2 of them metal clips either side.
Once the air vent is out I think you can get a large flat blade screwdriver to help it out.
Yes it should latch closed

Cheers pete
That’s where I went wrong before , will remove that air vent next time, I did remove the large H centre panel but the glovebox liner wouldn’t budge
At least with the air vent out of the way as u say can get something in there
Will have another look at the catch as I wasn’t sure if it was suppose to lock or not
