just to clarify on the vote/poll do you mean what person i.e. english male/female is talking on the sat nav during giving you directions or the persons voice when you pull the button with a face on the steering wheel to ask it to play a cd as mine is an english chap when using the phone command and a english lady tells me where to go on the sat nav.
i should have bought a defender lot less trouble

Hmmm, the plot thickens! I've got the same female voice for Nav and Audio and a slightly different but still female voice for Phone.
For the purposes of this let's make it the Navigation voice The End

You change it in 2 places on the sat nav. The voice should be a womans, the man's although sounding Englih isn't. It took me ages to find this other level, the dealers know *&3 all about it! Sorry I can't remember exactly how, but once it is a woman's voice it will work. It doesn't need to be educated either another dealer fallacy! DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

hi all
still could not get voice activation working so i booked it into the dealer today. thay spent 45 mins looking at it and could not get it to work.
i have re-booked it for next wednesday as they admit there is a fault and need the vehicle for 1 or 2 days to replace various parts.
i new there was some thing wrong but didn't want to have to leave at the dealers but s**t happens i suppose.
no coutesy car available so i'm on my bike for 2 days

Hi There
I too am having a bit of hassle with the voice commands, I cannot get the system to recognise the command "Rear entertainment on" in order to switch on the rear headphones which are dead?
Keeps thinking I am asking to tune the radio!
Any idea whether this is the voice command problem or whether there is another way of accessing the controls for rear entertainment?

I think the rear headphone jacks (if outfitted) are only controlled by the individual controls next to them. You can select the source there.
Range Rover Sport & Range Rover have a (front controllable) Rear Entertainment System w/ DVD changer as an option, but this does not exist on the Disco 3/LR3 - we just get a marginal dealer installed "all-in-one" DVD player unit.

Nick, check your language settings, if it's not GB English, things go wobbly on the voice recognition...

The language is definitely set for English (GB), it works for other commands but simply will not recognise anything for "rear entertainment" as per the book instructions.
The rear stereo commands work for things like repeat etc but here is no sound for the headphones?
What I need to know is:- is there any other way of turning off/on the rear headphones (nothing in book) and do you need special headphones?

The car is going in on Friday to sort the Parking Sensors so I would like to know before then so as not to look an idiot when they point to a huge button marked "PRESS HERE FOR REAR HEADPHONES"!  2005 TD6 HSE Java/Alpacca

Pressing the individual control by each rear headphone jack should cycle you through the input sources: AM/FM, CD, AUX. If it's on AUX and you have nothing plugged in and playing via AUX, you won't hear anything. Or your volume is turned off. No special headphones. They just work.
As I said, the references to Rear Entertainment probably applies to RRS -- they share the core system. LR documention is full of references to missing functions/features. You don't need to say anything to allow passengers to use the rear controls.

Thanks for that, I've pressed the mode button loads and the volume on each of the four outputs - nothing except the CD changer cycling!
Will ask the dealer to sort it out Friday.

Make very sure that you've turned the volume up enough. I had excatly the same dilema....then found it took many presses of the volume key to get any sound.
Better to try and figure it out yourself than to be told by the dealer that the volume needs to be turned up!
