Oh dear........
My SWMBO has yet to hear mine start up and I’m expecting pretty much the same conversation (I’m yet to buy my ‘new’ bike for her to ‘discus’..... )

Mrs Moo says ‘ why can’t you just leave things alone? Why do you have to keep messing with everything? The amount of money you’ve wasted over the years fiddling with your bloody cars and bikes is ridiculous!’
Sounds like mine, thank goodness my base car was a bit less than your lot and wouldn't be embarrassed by them either.

I loved my MGF/TF’s but just didn’t want an ‘old’ car anymore. Last one was a 2009 model (hate to have to admit but the one under Chinese ownership was the best screwed together) but was virtually the same as my first 1995 F and almost indistinguishable from the 2002 on TF.
Still great cars though

I just like tinkering with them, not so easy on the newer ones.==================================

What you need is a nice 'MG 51ZED' number plate for yours. I know of one sat on a retention certificate....

Dont tempt me I can hide engine mods etc under the guise of maintenance or repairs, that would be rather obvious ==================================

SWMBO drove the Abarth today. Before we even got off the drive I had “the bonnets a lot longer” (obviously it’s the same as the 124 it replaced ), “it’s too flash” (the red accents and contrast boot/bonnet) and, an expected, “it’s too noisy” on start-up....
A few miles later it improved to “oooh, it goes well” and later on “I’m loving this”
I even got an absolutely superb “pie’n’pint” out the trip
