Thanks but I don’t know what that is. Different to the rain sensor?Just 'cause you got the power... that don't mean you got the right.

It detects humidity (moisture) levels on the interior of the windscreen and I think it might also detect temperature. I might be wrong on the latter though.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Mine would show a fault code on the IID, I replaced with one I sourced from a kind fellow on here. Fixed the fault code, but I can't say I noticed any difference with anything else, such as windscreen demisting speed / prevention!

Would that be the part that appears to leak a clear liquid[oil?],every now and then, down the windscreen?
Now that's interesting to see the comment about a mystery clear liquid running down the inside of the windscreen.
I had this happen a few months back & wondered what it was or where it came from, wiped it away & forgot about it. Now i have the misting failure fault codes back. So seems the two instances are connected.
Time for another sensor I guess , although I'm still unclear of the benefit.

Every time I read my codes there are thes codes pertaining to the sensor,
B13C2-86 (2F) Windshield misting sensor - Bus signal/message failure - signal is invalid
( on 13-05-2023 16:04:43 at 144318 km )
B13C2-96 (2F) Windshield misting sensor - Component failure - internal failure
( on 13-05-2023 16:04:43 at 144318 km )
I guess I'll have to fit a new one too.Just 'cause you got the power... that don't mean you got the right.

What happens when the sensor senses then?....Jim

2016 Discovery 4 HSE Lux SDV6 Loire Blue - now gone
So I prodded & poked this sensor (LR058011) some more this morning. It seems to sense the humidity & also the screen temperature.
At first the live values look ok, then the temperature goes silly it throws the fault codes

I'm intrigued by the liquid that I saw running down the screen some time back & the same instance eddyoz saw & if it's linked to this failure.

I’m sure I’ve seen similar reports of this very high temperature reported when people have checked with the IID, and querying it. So I’m pretty sure you’re not the only one.
It may have been part of the HVAC investigation into why the cabin temperature gets too cool.

So I replaced the sensor (LR058011)today with a new one direct from LandRover. The humidity reading is more responsive than the old one, but i notice the screen temperature is still well out, in it's hundreds.
No faults showing, but surely if the car thinks the screen is 500+degC when in auto mode it will always try to run the climate to try & compensate for solar heat gain through the screen?
I'm not sure where to go now to try & correct the reading.
