Wipers, Mid Position - How?

Tried this the other day, but they seem to return to the stop position whatever I try. Had a look in the manual & couldn't see any reference under wipers at least.

Is there some sort of magic-trickery that needs to take place to get the wipers into the mid screen position for maintenance / cleaning etc?

So I just got around to trying this on the Ice Maiden. No matter how I try, no worky. The wiper just active as normal. Seems there may be more to this than meets the eye!
