Got it all working but not towed yet
Picture quality is ok, but not great
Need to see what it's like travelling at speed
Still concerned that where the cable enters the camera isn't sealed. Will have to see what it's like in a 12 months time Duncan

Has anyone got a picture of where they have the monitor fitted? Like the idea just don't know where I'd mount the screen. As I like things to look like they should be there neat and tidy. Tonga Green D3

fitted my camera to the twin axle a few weeks ago but only just got out on the road with it.
Mmm, its OK, but there are a few issues - maybe its just not good enough for the length of an 8m+ van and the D4. the issues are
1) the image is jumpy and sometimes freezes for a second or two
2) connection is lost intermittently
3) the faster I travel the less reliable it gets (not a big problem though)
when just reversing, its OK, but the image still freezes. On the plus side its better than nothing so will continue to use it.
is there a Bluetooth booster that could be used ?
ive stuck my monitor to the bottom right of the windscreen Duncan

I had the same problems when I tried a wireless rear-view camera / monitor with my 7.6m long caravan. I found that the only solution was to ditch the combination and fit a wired camera and monitor.
I did not want the hassle of a wired link between caravan and D4 so went for a simple wireless link. I fixed the transmitter inside the lid of the front locker (top RH side of the lid). The receiver is mounted at the top of the LH rear door pillar of the D4, where it is an easy task to run the cable down into the LH storage locker and tap into the the trailer ignition live wire to provide power only when the engine is running.
As the caravan rear-view camera is always on when towing, I use a monitor which clips over the rear-view mirror and just change the angle of the mirror to minimise reflections. I ran the cable for the monitor up the LH door pillar, behind the headlining and out by the rear-view mirror housing to give me a neat and clutter-free set-up.
The combination works very well for me. I get a good quality image with no lines or interference, although I occasionally have a loss of picture for a second or two when passing an HGV, probably due interference from the HGV's camera system.

If it uses Bluetooth then this may explain the flaky operation.
Most mobile Bluetooth devices have a range of 10m
