Many thanks to ubp_sanity for this list!

This is a complete list of Live Values observable on a NAS LR3 HSE with 4.4 V8 Petrol. Most of them also applicable for other markets and engines. Any differences will be pointed out.

Engine

  • Engine Speed RPM - The number of revolutions per minute the engine is running. The TDV6 will typically idle around 750rpm. This value is read off the crankshaft position sensor.
  • (1) Accelerator pedal position sensor % - The position of the accelerator pedal. 0% when off the throttle, 100% when the accelerator is floored. There are 2 totally independent accelerator position sensors, for redundancy. In a correctly operating vehicle, both sensors should read the same value.
  • (2) Accelerator pedal position sensor % - The position of the accelerator pedal. 0% when off the throttle, 100% when the accelerator is floored.
  • Air flow meter sensor mV
  • Atmospheric pressure sensor mV
  • Barometric pressure KPa
  • Battery voltage V - Typical values are 12.3-12.6V with the engine off. Voltage with the engine on varies between approximately 13.2V and 15.2V. After the engine is started from bone cold, voltage will typically rise to around 14.6-15.0V (depending on temperature), and will eventually (around 10 minutes) settle to somewhere around 13.6V. Please note that up to 0.3V discrepancy compared to a multimeter at the battery terminals has been observed.
  • Control module temperature C
  • EGR Stepper Position
  • Engine coolant temperature mV
    - The actual voltage emitted by the engine coolant temperature sensor. This voltage drives the engine temperature gauge on the dash.
  • Engine coolant temperature C
    - The translated value in C for the engine coolant temperature sensor voltage described above.
  • Engine oil temp mV
    - The actual voltage emitted by the engine oil temperature sensor.
  • Engine oil temp C
    - The translated value in C for the engine oil temperature sensor voltage described above.
  • Fuel rail temp mV
  • Fuel rail temp C
  • Ignition Timing Advance for #1 Cylinder deg
  • Intake air temp mV
  • Intake air temp C
  • Manifold absolute pressure KPa
  • Manifold absolute pressure mV
  • Mass air flow g/s
  • Pedal position sensor 1 mV
  • Pedal position sensor 2 mV
  • Throttle position sensor mV
  • Throttle position sensor 2 mV
  • Throttle position sensor %
  • Vehicle speed kph
  • Viscous fan speed rpm - The revolutions per minute the viscous fan is turning at.

Suspension

  • Current height mm
  • Current calibration
  • Gallery pressure KPa
  • Compressor temperature C - Temperature of the air suspension compressor. The compressor has a thermal cutout which typically triggers at 130C on the 2006 software. It might be that newer suspension ECU software reduced this limit.

Ventilation

  • Air conditioning system pressure KPa - The pressure within the air conditioning system. The pressure is controlled by the compressor and the thermostatic expansion valve and is dependent on ambient temperature as well as the temperature setting demanded on the HVAC control panel.
  • Air intake actuator feedback %
  • Air intake actuator target %
  • Blower speed
  • Compressor/motor current A
  • Evaporator temperature C - The temperature at the evaporator. This sensor measures the temperature of the air coming off the evaporator. This air is then sent to the ducts and comes out of the air vents in the car. This measurement, and a measurement of the air coming out of the air vents should be the same or very close (1C difference maybe). When demanding the coldest air from the HVAC, this live value is typically between 3.5C and 5.5C
  • External ambient temp C - The external ambient temperature measured by the external temperature sensor, which can be found behind the front grille.
  • Face - foot stepper actuator position
  • Floor - defrost stepper actuator position
  • Illumination value %
  • Interior temp C
  • Left air blend actuator position
