Another WD Quote Question

About 3 weeks ago I had a quote from WD, a couple of phone calls later the deal on the table is as follows:

Extra Care Policy
Includes Airbags & Emissions
13 Month Cover
Betterment Clause excluded
Have it in writing air suspension & EPB are covered.

My car is Jan 07 with circa 89k on the clock.

The quote for the above was approx £900.

Apparently as of Jan the underwriters significantly increased the cost of cover due to the large claims going in (this may just be sales BS Yawn )

What are the thoughts on the above then? Too expensive or not bad given age/mileage of car?

Cheers

Ian

Get no excess too and wait till near the end of the month, they'll be trying to reach their sales targets and reduce it

I got a three year Extra Care policy for £1600 with:

Franchised dealer labour rate
£0 excess per claim
No parts contribution (no betterment option)
Airbags and emissions cover
Off road use covered (otherwise you're not covered as per point 4 of the 'What is not insured?' section of the policy document)
Genuine parts only (no reconditioned and no cheap replacements)
ICE & SatNav cover
 The End

Do you have to wait till something has completely bust before claiming or can you gpclaim against something the garage has found during service ie bearing on the way out

It doesn't have to have gone BANG for you to claim. If it's outside spec, say with excess play, it can be replaced (authorised first). Had bearing & bushes replaced in this way. Some warty cos will only let you claim once the part has completely failed, WD doesn't. Thumbs Up

£900 sounds way dear to me, think I paid around £600 and renewal just gone through for around that figure. Couldn't get them to drop the betterment on mine though, maybe cos mine's a bit older.
