|
Just ordered up one of these from the roof box company got my 10% discount via the link as kindly supplied by
Mik, thought I would post this up again under the product title as it took a lot of searching. It sounds like the dogs , fingers crossed it does what it says on the box as it wasn't cheap

Each bike is held in place by a locking "support stem" that attaches via a padded strap to the crossbar of the bike. This is locked with a key and I believe that the strapping is reinforced internally so that it cannot be easily cut. The carrier itself is locked onto the towbar.
When I leave bikes on there for an extended period when I'm away from the car then I also put on a sturdy bike lock and lock the bikes to the carrier. You would need someone who is pretty determined to get anything off.
All in all a great carrier - we use ours a lot Also Gone : MY14 D4 SDV6 HSE : Barolo Black + Almond
Sadly Gone : MY08 D3 TDV6 HSE : Stornoway + Alpaca + Privacy + BAS Remap

Given the ease with which the removable towbar can be removed with the right knowledge when I leave my bikes on there I put a bike lock through the bikes and the recovery eye between the towbar electrics.
But normally I just fasten the bikes on the rack.

That is probably true, although the chances of the wrong scrote with right knowledge happening along at the same time with a van and some mates to lift the lot are fairly slim and one can only worry about so much in this life without becoming obsessive.
I'll bear that in mind in future though when I'm next near Manchester
Seriously though, thanks for the tip. Will consider that for some added security if the need arises. Also Gone : MY14 D4 SDV6 HSE : Barolo Black + Almond

Fitted this over the weekend its a top piece of kit and I love the way it slides back from the car to give you full access to your boot
They forgot to include my 13-7 pin adapter though so will have to give them a hurry up as I need it for Wedenesday

Ordered mine this afternoon. Fed up of trying to put two bikes in the back carefully, and then doing the same whist they are covered in mud and making the inside filthy. Should hopefully get it by the end of the week and use it next weekend!
