IPC update takes about a minute or so and quite a bit of experience with it now. Should it go wrong (pretty rare) there is a recovery procedure in the manual.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
For future reference, you can't rely on the number plate to identify things, really - use the VIN. Most 56-plates are 07MY.

All these power supplies quote on the site are quite expensive for something you may only use intermittently
As a radio amateur I have a very chunky 13.8 volt 25-30A supply for running high power radios. Has anyone had any experience of using this type of power supply?
From what I've read the larger Ctek chargers have a "supply" mode for flashing cars which is constant voltage. Wouldn't this be the same as my big power supply?

Don't know anything about your power supply.
As for paying for a big power supply for long updates - well I use jump leads to a second vehicle.

Well if you're running a 100 watts of RF at 14 Mhz into a piece of copper wire, you need to see what the current is doing

I would use it if I had access to such a beast.
I give my battery a good 12 to 24 Hr charge before I flash anything. This ensures that there is enough spare capacity to do what I need.
I did my 3 flash indicators on Friday morning. It only took two and a half minutes to complete. That's all my updates complete for the time being.
