Tailgate brake light
Just fitting a new tailgate brake light as I broke the original one. For anyone whose not done this you have to be brave and you'll need a dreamer, a wrecking bar or similar, a grinder or similar and some primer. I had to cut the light very carefully around the inner edge lacing about 2 cm still stuck down all the way round. i used a dremel with a cutting blade for control. Then using a combination of the dremel to cut part the way through the rock hard bonding sealant, whIch also helps warms it up a bit, a wrecking bar and hammer to pry the rest of the plastic off. Believe me it is very tough plastic. It's got some sort of reinforcing agent in it and the bonding sealant is bomb proof. Then I used a grinder to get the old bonding sealant off Which takes it back to bare metal. Then prepare the surface and red oxide it ready for the next bit. Be very careful round the washer jet area as there are wires and a water pipe there. Anyway here's a couple of pics to illustrate

I feel your pain but I would never do another. It is a heck of a lot easier to get a windscreen guy in with all the right skills and tools to remove it in no time at all.
