Turbo Intercooler help
2008 discovery 3 tdv6 hse just in case it doesn't show up.
I had the turbo intercooler replaced in May last year, can anyone tell me what sort of issues i could/would come across if this wasn't fitted correctly? Would they be consistent or intermittent? What is the expected lifespan of said part? What can cause it to fail in the first place?
Google isn't very forthcoming with answers to my questions.
Thanks in advance.

What would cause it to develop a fault after just 8 months?

It may be easier to explain what problems you're seeing / experiencing

Basically im phishing to see if the garage that repaired the intercooler fooked it up. Current problem is lack of power and clouds of black smoke. This isnt the first time its happened since it was changed either. we did have the mechanic look at it each time and error showed egr problems but he couldnt see anything wrong with the egrs so assumed they had cleared themselves

Split intercooler pipe? Look at the big hose for a split, pretty common.

If it was an Intercooler or boost leak, it would smoke all the time
The EGRs are very guilty for sticking, and causing performance and smoke issues. They cannot be checked externally. They need removed and dismantled to check
