I noticed today, during a rain shower, steam coming off my left and right rear view mirrors.
I checked the switch and it wasn't lit so I pulled over and found they were both warm.
My rear screen wasn't warm though. I switched rear demist on and the switch lit and the rear screen started to warm, so it's not a faulty switch..........I think!
It only comes warms when the engine is running, not with just the ignition on.
Problems brewing?

But.......it's not switched on.

I know the heated mirrors should only work with the heated rear screen switched on, but mine are on all the time the engine is running......

On my 2005, they (and heated washer jets) are switched on automatically at ~5°C or less from the climate control panel.

I guess you could pull a fuse under the bonnet if they appear to be stuck on during the summer.
