Feed from Tow Electrics
I want to take a feed 15A from the tow electrics to feed my 2M/70cm Mobile radio, the current draw on full power is Less than 13A but it is fused for 20A.
Where is the best place to take this from the boot area, I guess that from the loom behind the panel on the left in the boot.
Pic below is of the loom I'm talking about but what cables do I conect to?

Do you have a multimeter? Check which fuse position is live without the ignition on. I've used the same point for a permanent feed but can't remember the exact position.
On the other hand I've also fitted a switch to cut the permanent 12V feed to the aux tow socket that has a habit of shorting to the Earth pin. That one feeds the caravan fridge.
If I remember correctly the Blue/Pink is permanent 12V to Aux tow socket.Dave

Before the little fuse box, permanent is purple (splits in two)
After the fuses there are two 15A permanent fused circuits. One is blue with a pink stripe, the other is blue.
As you can see there are, however two blue wires from the fusebox
The permanent one is the thicker one, and obviously comes from one of the 15A fuses
You may want to tap into the purple though, and add your own fuse.
Use the earth stud visible in your pic, with the multiple white wires attached to it.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

tap into the purple and add your own fuse, especially if you have a caravan.

Just want to check as Martin said "You may want to tap into the purple though, and add your own fuse"
This is what I'm planning on, what size fuse is on the other end of the purple wire, is it less or higher than the 15A I will be fitting to the radio feed?
ONly asking as I don't want to overload it. I will NOT be using the radio if the caravan is attached only when I'm driving alone with nothing hooked up.Dale
