Tailgate latch

Hi all
Been having problem with tailgate handle, first it stopped working completely, I then managed to get itopen from inside but then the handle started working again but the more times I pressed it in succession the operation seemed to get weaker and weaker and then stop completely, then if I left it for a few minutes the same thing again. I stripped the handle and although there was a little corrosion on the metal flap there was none on the microswitch and upon operation seemed to be clicking ok .i was wondering is there any sort of capacitor associated with the latch that would explain the function getting weaker with repeated successive operation
Thanks for any help
Bob

Actuator dying, new oe 45 quid ebay, loads of posts on the very same problem in the last few days, some vids on youtube to showing you the actuator getting slower compared to a new one.

Put the word tailgate into the search box at the top and you will see all recent ones.
