Depends what signal it emits once you press the remote.
If it's only 12v, forget it. If it's a Wbus signal, it'll probably work. Mods:

As I understand it the LR3 heater needs to be told to turn on over the bus.
For the cost of the 2 items and risk of it not working, you may as well spend a little? more money on a guaranteed box (that works off your existing LR button on key)

Use that link in Petes post and make your own.
FBH controllers are straight forward to make once you've bought the few bits needed and you don't need a degree in electronics either, just a basic understanding.
