So AMK or Hitachi compressor

Does anyone have any pros or cons for the D3 compressors for air suspension, the AMK one is cheaper by 100 quid. Is this because it is inferior to the hitachi model or is it an upgraded unit worth considering.

My amber light has just started coming on and it's been diagnosed by the mechanic as a possible compressor failure as everything else has been checked and it seems to be alright.

Just wondering as I'll happily pay the extra if I know the hitachi is a better buy . All new to this compressor stuff
If it moves and it shouldn't duct tape it, if it doesn't move and it should walk away and get a big hammer

The AMK looks very different does it need any modifications at all to fit

If you buy the AMK 'kit' it includes the pipework, mount and covers. Probably easier to fit than trying to replace hitachi with hitachi, because it means you can cut some of the pipe work instead of having to struggle to remove it without damage.
It would need a firmware update though after swapping.

What are the error codes//symptoms, "possible compressor failure " seems a bit vague to spend a lot of money on. Solved my Compressor errors with a sub £50 kit form ebay. Just the dryer needed servicing.

Amber suspension warning light with warning vehicle suspension slow to raise

Intermittent sometimes doesn't do it for weeks, back goes up first then front compressor sounds strained, mechanic can't find any leaks has used detection fluid on all of the valve blocks pipe work and compressor. He's looked at the sensors all seem fine but his only conclusion is the compressor is starting on its way to failure.

Stu
Code from reader was c11-30-66 so it's very ambiguous

LR details for the code:

If they cant find any leaks it suggests that the exhaust valve on the compressor is stuck

Don't last long. Fitted 2, one lasted 3 months before needing replaced again.
The 2nd didn't last long enough to fill the air tank Rolling Eyes

The cheap AMK replacement units seem to be OK though

Do we assume AMK are female and therefore troublesome.
