Send them a photo, it hasn't been done.

I did send them the photo and they are still saying that the recall work was done.
They've just changed the date on when they said it was done.

Chand(?) on the LR facebook page has changed tune from the dealer in Inverness.
Inverness said May 2017.
Chand, after having a copy of the V5C supplied by me, is now saying it was done 3 Feb 2011.
Previous owner (on this forum) got it 2 Feb 2011 and says it did not have the recall done in his ownership.

So, you have

1: physical evidence the work has not been carried out
2: a respected independent LR engineer stating the work has not been carried out
3: a garage saying they performed the recall work - and presumably billed LR for it

I’ve had a Rover, a Peugeot, and a Nissan where service work has been billed for but not actually performed in the past, and usually it’s been put down to miscommunication between mechanic and apprentice as to what needs doing.

Perhaps the last time it WAS in a dealer they intended to do the recall work, billed it to get parts from LR, but it got missed before the car left? It’s a stretch I know, but otherwise on the surface of it, the LR dealer has fraudulently claimed for work with LR that they didn’t undertake, and you would expect LR to take that seriously.

Good luck with it!

I have had a similar experience with LR UK Ltd since September 2017. My D3 main agents said work was carried out (according to their computer) May 2017 to which I said it hadn’t. After a tech checked it they agreed it hadn’t been done. LR UK confirmed it had been done even after my main agent confirmed it hadn’t. Then after sending them my V5 they said it was done in 2014. I said if it had been done then it’s failed again. They then came back and said it was done in 2010 so out of warranty, so end of case no claim accepted, case closed. If anyone knows a solicitor who understand warranty claims I’ll be happy to let them deal with it not only for me but others who have been treated as I have Im sure there must be hundreds if not thousand of disgruntled owners. Regards Ollie

I'm just getting the run-around from LR.

What parts can I use, and is there any benefit getting them, from a LR4/RRS?
I'd rather get newer, and possibly better, secondhand parts.
Is there any better DIY plumbing setup that improves upon the recall arrangement of pipes that LR offered?
Thanks.

Brake servo. Factory fix failure.

Hi folks, just a quickie, in your opinion is it probable or highly unlikely that LR will replace for a second time.
Main dealer in Fife stated “I had more chance of winning the lottery”
Not a lot of help!
Brilliant site.

I had mine swapped + new vacuum pump at LR expense after first factory recall + repair failed, even though car was 10 years old.

P017 2nd failure is well known to LR.

Warranty/factory recalls in Australia is done under our ACCC, Australian Consumer and Competion Commission

I sent LR an email and threaten a complainant to the ACCC along the lines that the initial warranty work was not performed to a standard that addressed the initial P017 safety recall.

I also had a letter from my local LR dealer,’ that my car was not safe to drive due to reoccurrence of P017.

Tripe, did LRA come to the party ? The recall was done in 2010 but the problem has just come back.

Yes, LR Australia came to the party

Even after 10 years.

As I stated above, I wrote them a letter stating the original warranty
Fix, did not fix the recall notice problem and if it’s not rectified I will write to the ACCC.

I then received a call from my local dealership, advising LRA had approved the repair.
