Adaptive cornering lights |
|
Hi,
Are these plug and play with an IID or is additional wiring required? I've just bought a set of the lights to use in my new D3, so before I read pages and pages of information, I just wanted a simple yes tey are or no they're not then I can start doing more research on what I need to do.

There are Corning lights (extra bulb near side light)
And AFS lights where the dip beam moves around bends.

As above, if they are adaptive it is unlikely the adaptive part will work without extra wiring and a module, the lamps will work but not the adaptive cornering.
If they are standard xenon with cornering they will work but the cornering lamps will only work if you have the red wire in the lamp socket they should work without any CCF change, the engine must be on, the dipped beam must be on, the indicator must be on and you must be travelling below 20mph ish.
Basic xenon without cornering can be adapted to cornering by simply by fitting cornering bulbs providing again you have the red feed cable in the headlamp socket located behind the offside head lamp.
Hope that helps, I hasten to add they are light years better than on the facelift D4, which are a complete waste of time and next to useless. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Cornering lights does need a CCF edit (well 2, one per side!)
I suspect you won't have the red wire though

Cheers for the update. I've bought what are allegedly adaptive, so may take a bit more work than I anticipated then. I'll add it to the list! Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey

If the label says AFS, then yes you need an ECU and wiring

Bit of an update. The lights I got are adaptive cornering, they have the APS label, also the lamp mounts move if you take the back cover off.
I have found this module, is it the right one:

I can't be sure. But it seams to have the words on it I would expect.
I'd have it at that price.
or course the real pain in the wiring.
