Took mine for a paddle in the Murray river
I'm in the Snowy mtns at Thredbo for some mtb riding and today was a rest day, so I decided to check out the ford at Tom Groggin. As you ford the Murray river you leave NSW and enter VIC. Approach and departure are solid with crushed rock and the river bed is fist size pebbles with water about a foot deep.
Sorry no action photos as I was on my own.
not a good idea to take photos as the ford is a horseshoe shape and requires attention

Road trip from a 5 star all inclusive Christmas (mother in laws) up to a highland self catering Hogmanay.
Durham to Morar via Glencoe, just spectacular with bright sunshine and snow & ice on the ground.
Busy though, lots of mountain men ( and women) out and about.

Went and had a play in the ford at Clumber Park with my new GoPro. There was a good amount of water and good flow which nearly sent us both into the fence on the downstream side! You can just make it out on my mates Freelander infront and the distance from the right fence for me! Brief heart in mouth moment!
Which panel is that on HD? Somewhere near the number plate? Normally with that ford you can get some good speed and get a good spray onto the bonnet but it was too deep for that. If we'd have been going much quicker we would have been in trouble!

Went over Wrynose in the snow (Hardnot was closed).
I could tell that a big crowd we passed had doubts, but I was well impressed with my Vredestein winter tyres.
Met a Defender coming up as I was going down. He had stopped at a passing place and then had great difficulty setting off. I waited to ensure that he did and after just gunning it he eventually started to move.
After he had left I just stuck mine reverse and easily moved uphill!

Was out for a drive today so stopped off at the local reservoir to have a look, not much snow but half the reservoir was frozen. Should have cleaned the car before taking some photos

A great day out in Kielder forest on Saturday helping out on the Kielder 4x4 Safari raising money for The Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team.
Also good to meet Steve from the forum with his D3
Not a lot of snow left and despite it being 7 degrees we still found a quarry pond totally frozen over with some quite thick ice
A couple of photos
