Super job Pete. You sound well chuffed and quite rightly too!
Reckon you've earned at least a year's worth of Brownie points with Mrs Pete too! Have you thought about how you'll spend them?!!Clubs Mantec, Tasmods, LEDS, AT2s on 18s, Maxxis Bighorns on 17s, Remote FBH, BAS. ReMap, BSS., RLD Personalised SWP., Safari Snorkel, Faultmate, Three Musketeers & MUD

still wondering if there are any gaps if you fit a d4 bumper to a d3??
Wouldn't fit - the D3 lamps come all the way to the bumper, and as such would foul on the replacement ...Regards,

very very nice - won't be cheap for the whole job of course, by my (very rough) reckoning...

You're miles out Steve.....what about the 30 quid for the clear side indicators?
Seriously though, some of your prices are definitely assuming forum discounts and mate's rates etc, so it could well end up being > 2000 GBP including painting and as you said, that's just for the parts....2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Doing a proper conversion will cost thousands, seriously.
if you just want the front end job (lamps, grill, bumper and wings) you are still about 2 thousands deep just for parts (and I am not talking retail, i am talking prices if you know where to find them at a reasonable price - shop around the sponsors on this site ) (Note : this is all you need to do if you have a 2009 D3)
I was wondering about it and asked a LR specialist for a quote for all the parts for a proper job, not just the front. The one I got with 20% off was still 3800 Euros (3500 quids give or take) just for parts !
A proper conversion includes (on top of the front end one):
- all the side trims
- the rear bumper
- the rear lights
- color coded rear door handle
- color coded rear door trim
- then obviously 2010 rims over 19''
Though, labour would not be that bad, even if you can't do it yourself, painting will be another few hundreds for the added parts and then a a lot more if you do not have a carried on color from D3 to D4, (say you have and epsom green or a maya gold, you'd need a complete color change ! )
Finaly one need to know how to make the D4 headlamps work on the D3... A D3 electronic specialist should be able to help you. There is only a couple of sponsors doing the job here and I am not sure either has completed a complete conversion yet, though both know how to make headlights work.
Obviously this is no cheap trick. Then again, if you are tired of you D3, or say it needs a paint job + parts from a recent fender bender, it is worth the try.
Bear in mind that you may be able to get a few quids back from the parts taken off, especialy Xenon...l=Oo\________/oO=l l:Ool======loO:l

The wings are 65 quid each from the dealers +vat.
On mine i used a mixture of good used parts and some new costing about 1350+vat. +paint and labour.
what you have to rememebr when quoting for a new dealer bumper you also need to quote for fog lights, fog light sorounds, parking sensors and wireing looms so i chose to use a used but good bumper and grill.
New lights and new side vents along with new wings.
I have some D4 parts for sale if anyone is interested in converting.

No worries Pete
I decided to go with modifying\adding fogs to my existing bumper rather than buying a complete new one.
