The GSM unit is available now for public use, The add-on GSM to the existing kit1 is £170+£10 for a sim card(with £15 credit on)+vat. Sim on O2 network
The kit at the moment is only fittable at my workshops so existing kit1 customers will need to send it back for GSM modification.

Doh, now I remember why I forgot about it,
For the very reason of sending mine back, is not An option as its pretty much integrated into my loom, winscreen trim (lengthened antenna) and my modded led in grill . So I basicly can be bothered to pull it all out, but if you ever do a kit for the ones like myself that can solder, then I will be in

Sorry. the self instal is a little hard to support at the moment because we have 3 revisions of kit1 pcb all with minor changes to the layout which makes it hard to create an instruction set from.
Hopefully I can manage to do this in the future for people like you that cant remove it. Though you could use a Durite connection for the LED and antenna etc ?

Hi Pete, so assuming I have the latest kit(1), its not a simple job of one wire then - from a GSM module to your pcb to start/stop the FBH? I'd assumed it would be?
I didn't anticipate as much for the GSM module either? That's sounds like a lot? Am I missing something - btw, I don't mean to insult
Cheers

No insult taken at all.
Its a firmware flash and 5 wires to kit1 from the GSM kit2, it has FULL data control over the internal program of kit1, full capability to change settings, full sms feedback to your mobile including diagnostic fault codes, fuel prime via sms the list goes on.. as well as it being a Quad-Band 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900 MHz controller so it can work in any country and on any current frequency network while only using a power consumption of 1.5mA to keep the battery perfectly safe from going flat even if left for weeks unused.
Its not just a simple ON/OFF GSM controller. below is part of the sms option settings list.
MO=x Set mode, where x is N, T or E for Normal, Temperature or Economy
ST Request status of FBHIC by return SMS message
ON Trigger FBHIC to operate in normal mode
OT Trigger FBHIC to operate in target temperature mode
OE Trigger FBHIC to operate in economy mode
OF Turn FBH off
Note: Commands ON, OT and OE may optionally be followed by a parameter (=x) to temporarily override the default setting.
T2=1234567890 Sets the second of three possibile telephone numbers (Add last 10 digits ONLY)
T3=1234567890 Set the third of three possibile telephone numbers (Add last 10 digits ONLY)
T2=D Erase number in T2 location
T3=D Erase number in T3 location
RE Reset primary T1 telephone number to nothing, ONLY from existing T1 number or By BAS on request.
TQ Identify configured telephone numbers by return SMS
TI=x Sets the default normal run time (MAX 60 mins) Default 45 mins
TE=x Sets the default target temperature (MAX 90C) Default 76c
RT=x Sets the default ready in x minutes (MAX 240 mins)
CF Clear all FBH faults
FP Fuel prime for 20 seconds
CO Run the combustion fan for 5 minutes
CP Run the circulation pump for 5 minutes
ML=x Set the message level to x
Five message level settings are possible:
0 no messages
1 fault messages only
2 fault and start messages
3 fault, start and stop messages
4 fault, start, stop and delay start messages
For a very basic on/off gsm controller with no feedback etc you can buy any dial to open gate opener and connect 2 sires to my kit1.
Cheaper on.off versions available here, most of which would work though in comparison for functionality features they work out more expencive than mine does http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p...;_from=R40

Well justified
The only off-putting bits (for me) now then are a) I'd need to return this to you to re-flash / re-wire then - is that right? (I was secretly hoping that as my kit had just been delivered / it's new; that it wouldn't need the flash so, not need to return it & I could solder in the wires, with instructions from the GSM.... )
b) Is the additional installation above the kit I have now just +ve, -ve & possible antenna location?
p.s. Was the price £170+vat or £170inc. vat & plus £10+vat for the SIM & is there D3 forum discount?

If you have a very recently delivered unit with a WHITE antenna NOT brown you are secretly suspectiing correct, the firmware is compatable for GSM addition already.
Its 5 wires aditional connected from kit2 to kit1 as extras not the 3 you mention which are only for kit1power and Fb connection.
The price for the add-on GSM to the existing kit1 is £170+£10 for a sim card(with £15 credit on)+vat. (Sim on O2 network)

Hi there, thanks for the reply - I def. have white antenna cable
Any detail on the SIM, does any added unused credit expire every month - i.e. £10 p/m to keep it running etc?
Any chance you could PM me fitting instructions please? Based on that, I think I'll be asking you for one

The sim is pay and go so no contract per month. If you use the current credit top it back up. The sim is a Giffgaff sim on the O2 network. Like most payandgo sims they do require you use some of the credit every now and then.
That said it will be sending you sms messages back so it will never die and only use the credit slowley from sending the sms.
You can see on your pcb in kit 1 the 5 spare pins/pads you solder to. I will send kit 2 with a picture showing the color coded wires going to each place.
