Throttle valve EGR
I know that there are plenty of posts on this subject but I remain uncertain.
I have fitted EGR blanking and removed the butterfly throttle valve as recommended. I do not think there was a problem with the valves but it seemed a good precaution as they were bound to fail sooner or later. and being a 2005 model there was no software issue.
Now I feel that engine breaking is poor, I cannot make up my mind if it is much worse than before so 2 questions.
1 Is the valve actually driven closed on over run to aid engine breaking.
2 Has anyone else noticed this or is my imagination taking control.
I may try to put the valve back in but I do not have time at the moment particularly if it will have no effect.
Thanks

Reinstall the butterfly, vacuum created closing the intake improves the braking capability.
(And aids in an overrun situation)

Can some give a more technical view on this one?
With EGR's blanked.........If you re-install the butterfly flap (valve) and it closes because it thinks the air is coming from the EGR valves, this would surely cause power issues? as no air would be getting to the fuel mixture?????
