Wiper + HVAC issues, and clicking relays

Currently have a customers car in with a few intermittent issues.
Doesn't have much money to spend on labour investigating the problems, after being in a main dealer for the past few months, with a large bill and no resolution to the cars problems.
Trying to help the guy out as cheaply as poss to get him back on the road, and hoping someone has seen this fault before...

Wipers judder their way very slowly across the windscreen
HVAC panel shuts down, all lights on said panel go off, and blower stops working
Radio switches itself on and off
Lots of clicking from down in the passenger fuse box

Can happen a few seconds after start up, or after 30 mins of driving. Doesn't seem to affect the way it drives

In addition, it was cutting out whenever the compressor was switched on. A new battery and alternator was fitted, and cured this particular problem, but the rest remain.
The car has also had a new fuse box/CJB fitted

This isn't a fault I have ever seen before, so I open the floor to the technical bods Thumbs Up

Hi Mikey,

I have seen similar symptoms... when someone had renewed the CJB, but didn't clip one of the multi plugs back in fully, it looked in place, but wasn't. Worth a quick check

regards
Steve

Maybe!

Not a techie guy myself,
however a few years back had some problems with my motor, nobody could get to the bottom of Whistle Whistle Whistle
Had ten for cash up,( forum member)for the day to look. He also was strugling Big Cry Anyway after almost a full days, he came across something, he had not seen on a d3 before, In the fuse box next top the battery compartment one of the fuse holders was expanding, very slightly more than the fuse itelf, thus every now and agin losing contact.
New fuse holder fitted, problem solverd Mr. Green

Might have no relivanceas to what your problem is, however just might have.

Is there a common earth point to all these malfunctioning items?

First thing I thought was an earthing problem. A loose or corroded earth would give similar symptoms that the wipers are showing. Confused

The CJB has been out here already, and all connectors are definitely in securely.

The earth points at the base of both A pillars have been checked. All tight and secure, and no corrosion

Wiring in behind the battery has been checked too

The last one I saw like this was a damaged (pushed down) fuse contact in the BJB.

First time I have used a PowerProbe in anger and it found the fault in no-time.

Well no time after the best part of a week trying everything else. Was going to buy a PowerProbe after this experience, but never had the need since. Well, until next time.
