On my second set of Dr Tranny (two tubes each time), 10,000 miles apart, made a significant improvement for the two times I have added Dr5 Tranny, I have not had any Mega flush or replacement oil as yet, my disco 3 has now done around 112k miles, so if in another 10,000 miles and the judder and rev counter oscillation returns what are my best options..?
Thnx in advance..

I'm in the same situation, apart from the oscillation, never had that. I have slip en judder, few times Dr Tranny. I tried a mega flush and a new filter, no major improvement, same effect as 2 tubes Dr. Tranny.
I'm hoping someone will answer different, but I'm afraid we are up to a transmission overhaul. 2017-...: Disco II Td5 auto, 1999, BAS remap, HD TC and auto box Ashcroft, Allisport IC, ACE, 2" lift only coils, BF goodrich KM2 265/70R17, FF front and rear bumper, TF steering guard and tree sliders, nanocom.
2013-2017: Disco 3 TDV6 HSE aut. of 2008, Britpart treesliders, IIDTool, RLD sump guard, BFG KM2 265/70R17, adj. rods, BAS remap + EGRs blanked, silicon IC hoses.
2010-2013: Disco II Td5 of 2000, ACE, front Bearmach HD coils, rear SLS, GG AT2

I had the same, in the end I had to bite the bullet and have a transmission overhaul and recon torque converter. Club Narpy Torch

Under hard acceleration at a low rpm you can feel it judder; also at certain speed you can see the rev counter bouncing.

Hi All.
Not sure if this is the same problem as this thread. Please forgive me if i've hijacked it.
Mine is a d3 auto, 96000 miles on a '54 plate. Bought last year of the forum.
Start it and move the selecter to drive, nothing happens ie. no drive. If I put slight pull back pressure on the selecter it then engages. Holding the pressure on and it moves up through the gearbox but if I stop holding and applying the back pressure it fails to engage. Moving the selecter to sport mode or using it to change gear then it's fine.
Wondered if a mega flush would solve this?
Thanks.

JB, do a search for gearbox linkage. You just need to get it lubricted. Easy job. Or replace for a few pounds. 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Done this today. Everything works great now, even feels better using the gearshift as manual. Took just over the hour. Cleared the corrosion from the shaft and bush then packed it all with grease. Mind you had to come in a couple of times as the pinkies were freezing.
Thanks to bean1e for the advice.

I just got my disco back from the garage today, I bought the car two weeks ago only to find out that when warm in 2nd gear (auto) the auto box shuddered, like I was driving over a cattle grid, I spoke to a LR main dealer who said I needed a replacement box.
After doing some research I bought two tubes of Dr Trannies shudder fix made by lubeguard, I asked my local 4x4 garage to drain the box, change the gearbox filter which in turn means replacing the gearbox sump with the modified 2 piece sump & filter, refill with new oil & add the tubes of shudder fix that I supplied.
Well 4 days later I picked the car up & amazingly it has totally cured the problem, no slip at all, it drives like a different car- I'm well chuffed.
The parts- modified sump, filter & gear oil was £205, they charged me £180 labour (cash).
Now you could just add the shudder fix into your gearbox and it might work without the box oil being renewed, but I chose to have the whole lot done , after all my cars done 170k so the oil must be loosing its friction properties.
In short - this stuff really does work

triggers minor gearbox issues |

ok, torque converter done swapped out, cheers Mackie Transmissions, fresh Longlife 6 and filter etc. Great result other than when moving between 2nd to 3rd from standstill if you go over around 2000rpm occasionally the engine surges to around 2500rpm before moving up the gear. Also happens on the odd occasion from 4th to 5th.
Dyer recon a reflash of gearbox ECU?
