Any info on adding DT through the radiator hose? Can you not just add via the gear box? Does the engine need to be running?

Fill via the normal fill point is how I did it - and yes the engine needs to be running Thumbs Up

Hi folks - looking for a recommendation for a place to do a mega flush on my Disco as I am getting slight shudder under load and bouncing speedo as discussed on this post . 08 model with 147k done will be in Dumbarton / Glasgow next week so hoping to get the job done while over there. Great forum - loads of knowledge around. Thanks.

Hi, just to add my two pence worth... I got my car at 170K with judder, but it did change correctly. After talking to a few specialists and the main dealer they told me they had never had a case of coolant / oil contamination but the likely cause was a long overdue oil change.

I got the oil changed along with all the filters for £350 (all in) and it's been perfect, I've done several thousand miles since then.

judder

Hello
I have developed a judder in my disco 3 it only happens in 3rd at the mo and seams to do it when its warm.Have been reading this topic and it seams i am not alone.Would like to add that i had the gear box out put seal done about 6 months ago and when it came back the disco had an intermittent holding issue on hills if that makes any sense. Also when u put it in low range and u go from drive to reverse it bang in not smooth. Would u say the landy specialist hasn't done a vary good job
So after that ramble the question is do u think dr tranny will help or should i be taking the garage to task
Thanks in advance
would also like to add the disco has only got 74k on clock

Dr Tranny has successfully fixed the problem with numerous D3's here in Africa.
It has ethers which removes the glaze and that's why the slipping seizes.

Some think that putting dr tranny will just delay the inevitable, do you think that is true or that it actually FIXES the problem?

Thanks for your feedback!

I hope it is a fix. Mine started feeling rough today under acceleration, and then giving it some whelly the clutch felt like it was slipping..... except it is a auto.

It has just started so is it worth a doc tranny, or is it a recon box or chop the car in jobby

Thanks Geoff. I had a local gearbox specialist do a mega flush, change a filter pan and some kind of tube. They added a additive to the AT and ive yad the remap removed incase it was adding to the strain

All great now. Razz

Just wanted to note here (adding to the already long list of successful Dr. Tranny users) - did a double flush, filter and pan change following what appeared to be the manifestation of a slipping lockup clutch. No improvement (perhaps very minor!) then added two tubes Dr. Tranny and it was like a switch was flicked... PERFECT Bow down

I want to know how! (there seem to be conflicting theories, some say it deglazes friction discs, others say it displaces possible hydro-impurities, whilst others say improves viscosity)

JUDDER CAME BACK

Hi. I've put in 2 tubes of dr Tranny without transmission oil change and 20k miles later, the judder recur.

I'm planning a full mega flush and replace the transmission filter, but the mechanic said mega flush could result in damaging the valve body. That plan was kept on hold.

Please advice the best next course of action for anyone who have a permanent solution to judder issue.

I have also noticed that each time judder occur, I will experience Turbo Under Boost & Knock Sensor Bank 1. Dealers said there is no problem with the turbo nor the sensors. They updated the TCM, PCM and TCM. For the first time, I manage to record a 34mpg on level road at 90km/h. Short-lived joy. When judder recur, on the same road and speed, it reduced to 28 mpg.

This is the only car that truly fits my family and work. Please help!
