I dont really have a relationship with a LR dealer, most of my work has been done my specialist or myself so I doubt they would help.2010 Disco 4 HSE

So my RHS inlet manifold went at 100k miles. Now the LHS has failed at 160k miles, so managed a bit longer than normal on the second.
Have ordered the parts and I’m going to DIY it.

After the odd 'restricted performance' message, I've had it confirmed by my independent garage after doing a smoke test that the inlet manifold is indeed cracked.
They've quoted for the labour, which reading this thread seems reasonable, but I have choice between OEM parts @ £270ish per side, or aftermarket for approx £150 per side.
Should I be sticking to OEM or is aftermarket OK?
Thanks

The Land Rover part number has been updated over the years. I don’t know whether that means they have addressed the underlying issue with a new design. I also don’t know what the fitment and quality is like on the aftermarket parts, or whether they suffer from the same problem.
If anyone has experience or a recommendation with explanation then please share?

OEM/Genuine only, IMHO
Its a lot of work to replace, so last thing you want to do, is do it again My D3 Build Thread

I was assured that the new part numbers represented the fact that the problem (the joining of 2 different thickness plastics) had been addressed, and so it was a no brainer, LR parts for me.
As Disco_Mikey says, you don't want to have to do it again when what could be quality copies of the original items fail.

Ok, so i'm a wee bit clueless! but the technical bulletin LTB00768v2 3.0L TDV6 Valve Cover Split And/Or Cracked, is obviously related to the TDV6; Does anyone know if there's one for the SDV6?
