As soon as i've got all the parts, i'll document the whole fitting process step by step if you like. I'm sure wiggly (sorry) can also help with his new video skills

Sorry for the off-topic as this is in the D4 thread.
Are the heated D3 wheels physically the same as the newer smooth leather D3 wheels? So if I was to order a new smooth wheel, I'm guessing it's probably worth a couple of extra quid to get a heated one for a future upgrade?
I hope I'm making sense 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Pete,
Can I suggest you start a new thread under D3 also as the mods have locked the thread that was started by TFC due to some bull t about sponsors not trying to jump on each others threads even though you started this topic well before TFC started his and were only answering questions members had asked
And to think, that thread was just getting interesting with some very valid comments from losts of different site members with long records of being on here "UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" ------------is how far you take the fence with you.

Are you trying to wind us up or something? Its not , its the rules, and the sponsors know that. If you don't like it, you know where the door is.

Pete perhaps you could reassure Jasperooney that you and I have discussed the rule in question quite amicably.
It is not helpful when other site users comment upon rules they clearly don't understand or have no knowledge of relevant discussions between moderators and others.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Jasperooney i will start another thread about the heated wheel on its own, i agree this one did get slightly confused for one reason or another and some of what is here is relevent and some not henve why i got pms asking about paddle shift on the D3 from reading this D4 thread but its no problem it has gone the way its gone and thats the way it is.
As DG said we have had quite a few pms back and forth with each other and although my post in the other D3 thread was only a answer to a question and not a sales tatic it was actually a broken rule by me which i apreciate and have to abide by even if it were just a simple answer, the rules are the rules.
I thank you for your support Jasperooney and will post a new simpler heated wheel help/info thread soon when ive collected all the photographs i need to make it more complete and relevent to D3 D4 and RRS users.
I will also probabaly ask a kind moderator to move some of these posts over to a new thread and possibily even delete some posts in this thread totally to clean it up a bit to how it should be.
Pete

No not trying to wind anyone up - sorry if you thought that.
Glad to ear everyone is going to stick to the rules from now on - oh and I did understand the rule especially the part that was posted just thought it was a bit late and possibly, IMHO mis-guided was all.
Happy to stay this side of the door as its cold out there "UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.

joyceslaw,
From what I have read and understand you will have 2 steering wheel paddles on the left hand side as opposed to one that is there at the present i.e. the voice command toggle/switch. The new one will switch the heated wheel on and presumably off - Pete will no doubt reply with more.
The wheel will be very similer to the new D4 wheel, erm, I think."UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" ------------is how far you take the fence with you.

As said you will have a extra switch.
On the left hand switch set you have the voice button IF FITTED, this is split into 2 just as the phone switches are on the right hand side switch set.
If you dont have voice as standard it will only be 1 switch for the heated wheel and not split.
The new heated D3 wheels should be smooth as Japseroony said a bit like the new D4 one. Mine has not arrived as yet so i dont have any pictures to hand.
