I thought I would hate the new disco 5, but I like it more than I thought I would, now Sitting wondering did I make a wrong decision in ordering a new disco 4 landmark which is due to come next week.
However, after running it through a pricing calculator I got a disco 4 landmark in waitomo grey with lots of added extras for £52k, ordering the disco 5 with similar spec would be over £70k!!!! For a discovery!! That's Range Rover prices! 2016 discovery 4 Landmark in Waitomo grey

£60600 for my spec (I'm not too fussy!) although I can shave about £1k off that if I went for the 2.0l engine. Didn't seem all that bad to be honest and have almost convinced myself that I can afford it!! Dave Neil

I built a very roughly similar specced D5 to our D3 in SE form and apart from the lack of availability of an equivalent HK Audio option it comes out at about £55k which is about £14k more in the elapsed 11 years, so although a fairly large wedge, no smelling salts required and theeeeennn......???

I'm hoping that this means late D4's will retain their value

Time will tell, but apart from enthusiasts on this site, I fear no one will want the D4 and prices will reflect this. It's all speculation that said.

Sent my spec to the dealers this morning asking if they know what finance deals may be on. Roughly matched what i had now with some extras and its at £82500. Give it a year and i think we will see the first £100k when the Hybrid comes out!
If the boot is rubbish for the dogs then I'm going for low spec D5 and getting a custom T6 but if it looks doable from a practical point I may pull the trigger and order a 3.0L Lux MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

I think you need to be careful with the spec prices as it seems very easy to get charged twice for some things...
If you take an HSE luxury and add the massage option within the Interior Build option, it adds £870.
Then add the Luxury Comfort Pack for £1300, which includes Climate Front & Rear Seats, Massage Seats and the Infrared Windscreen. Price of the car goes up £1300.
Then add a Head Up display (which surely should be standard on the super lux model) and it will tell you that it needs the Infrared Windscreen and adds an extra £210 for that (even though you've just added it with your lux comfort pack).
And if you don't add the Massage Seats in the interior build, the list price of the Lux Comfort Pack is still £1300 - but actually now adds £2170 to the build price.

SE has most things I would want, £50k with no options is I guess a reflection of the market they are pitching too.
Out of my league until used ones come through, very nice though, better get saving!

Very glad I bought a Landmark 5 months ago - still absolutely delighted with it and hopefully I'll get many years of enjoyment from it

So just wondering, as it's a LR and touted as being a capable 4X4, what sort of off-road biased kit is available on the option list?
RAI?
Nudge bars?
Spot lights?
Expedition roof racks?
Rear ladder?
Front/rear/underbody protection?
Light guards?
Most available on the 8) iconic Disco3 on it's launch.
btw, not worth speccing one myself, it's not for me! ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
< ‘tis but a mere scratch …….. it’ll polish out.

RAI Not needed apparently. Not sure i buy that though as i used to get wash all over my bonnet and up the windscreen
No ladder in the options which is disappointing.
Under body protection is available .
Can't see a expo rack which is disappointing as the roof bars look weird, they are too high. The D4 ones look good enough to keep on all the time.
Can't see spots or light bars or guards. A OEM roof mounted LED light bar would have been cool moulded and colour coded a bit like a roof air intake on dakar cars. MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten
