Hmm...as I wrote that I had a bit of a suspicion that in 12 months time the sdv6 would make an appearance, which would make a used tdv6 and the petrol a fairly unwelcome proposition in p/ex. I can just imagine the dealer speak .."not really much call for these engines now the new diesel has come out.."
I had put a deposit down last May for either a D5 or another RRS at my choice, but I'll get shafted whatever I do!
I'll keep your mantra in mind. Thanks I think!
On the flip side, buy it because you like it, not for what it might be worth a couple of years down the line.

Thanks Red Merle. You may be right on the nearly new tailend models coming up for grabs, and mine might be one of them.2016 D4 Landmark SDV6 (Euro6), Zanzibar (late run D4)

Well I don't want the 2.0 litre, I don't want the tdv6 as it's slower than my Sport, and the petrol is too thirsty, and road tax will be much higher with the emissions.
Just noticed that I don't think it has the dynamic mode which makes the sport corner like a large go kart.
Don't really want another Sport....but I quite like the look of the D5 and it has the rear tray thingy for the dogs...and the rear suspension lowers for dog accessibility.
Think I'll have to go petrol.

£75,000
I've just "spent" only just over that on a full on Range Rover Vogue on their configurator; it would then be usefully less than that, once you take into account the finance contributions and the discounts available on the FFRR that simply won't be there on the funny Disco.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

I didn't say it was 4cyl?? It's V6 3.0ltr and I love all the plastic. It was the plastic curry hook which sold me. Never again to drive one handed back from the curry house. Heaven.

D3 has a lovely curry hook on the inside lip of the lower glovebox.
Keeps the popadoms (what popadoms love?) in reach on the drive home.

I have my curry delivered since I didn't have a proper hook. My D5 (When and if) will mean I get to steal the poppadoms again. There's something to look forward to. FFRR 2017 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. Cost so much I must be mad!

You guys complaining about prices should be glad you don't depend on continental stealerships.
To add an insult to the injury of the castrated cuckold design of the new Disco compared to the old one, the continental specs include fewer features for more money.
I was like "not as bad as I expected" after configuring a nicely equipped HSE Lux worth 74k GBP in the UK configurator before I realized that the same (feature-for-feature as continental trims are comparatively feature-poor) config costs ~86k GBP in the Czech one and as far as I could tell it's the same everywhere across the Channel (checked also German and Austrian configurators for reference).
And all that when I just started to lean towards admitting that the design might, eventually, begin to grow on me

Ugh. Apparently one can't trust the website spec build system entirely.
I put together a spec with the Dynamic package and the climate seats (Seat Package 5), gave it to my dealer and he can't replicate it on the dealer build system. He said Seat Package 5 can't be mated to the Dynamic Pack for some reason.
I thought, well maybe that's because the climate seat pack might already be included and he said no, it automatically matches Seat Pack 4 instead. This is getting silly.
Here in the U.S. Seat Package 5 is part of the "7 Seat Luxury Climate Comfort Package" at $2,180. How about in the UK? Has anyone talked to their dealer about getting the Dynamic Pack spec'd with the climate/massage seats?
